11 Things You Missed On The Internet This Weekend | 12.18.23
We're all on cruise control this week, right?
Hope everyone had a great weekend. If you advanced in your fantasy football playoffs, kudos to you. If you lost in truly embarrassing fashion in the first round, like I did, I feel your pain. Chin up, let’s focus on the real-world victories and kick the last true working week of the year in the butt.
If you’re hitting the road for the holidays, safe travels.
Rob Gronkowski LEVELS Boise State Mascot After Belting Off-Key National Anthem At His Bowl Game
UCLA and Boise State played in the inaugural LA Bowl hosted by Gronk and the game itself was electric. The Bruins battled back from a 16-7 deficit at halftime to win by 13. Since Gronk owns the naming rights to the bowl, played at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, he grabbed the mic and sang one heck of a rendition of the National Anthem.
Former United States Navy Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet says he believes UFO whistleblowers like David Grusch are telling the truth about governmental “non-human” retrieval missions. Gallaudet also added, regarding these UFOs, “We’re being visited by non-human intelligence with technology we really don’t understand and with intentions we don’t understand either.”
Aaron Rodgers Looked Disgusted While Watching The Jets Offense, Is Definitely Not Coming Back This Season
Remember over the summer when the Aaron Rodgers hype train was officially off the rails? I realize it’s just a matter of business for the NFL to milk story lines until they’re beaten into a dead horse, but come on. It was egregiously bad with the Aaron Rodgers-to-the-Jets hype train. There’s no way he’s enjoying spending his Sundays like this. He has to be daydreaming about a retirement trip to Burning Man or Phish at the Vegas Sphere right now, right?
These Are The Must-Have Apparel Gifts Of The 2023 Holiday Season
Folks, you’re officially down to the wire. Here’s a little inspiration from our fashion and gear desk…
The Sphere In Las Vegas Goes Dark As U2 Plays Christmas Banger For First Time In 35+ Years
The Sphere in Las Vegas is known for its mind-blowing visuals, but U2 scaled things WAY back for a performance of a legendary Christmas banger. It marked the first time in more than 35 years that the Irish rock band played Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home) live. Their cover of the song was released in December 1987 in conjunction with the charity compilation album ‘A Very Special Christmas.’ Darlene Love sang the original in 1963 and later said that U2’s rendition of her holiday hit is the best cover to exist.
San Francisco Quarterback Brock Purdy Wants Another 49er To Win MVP
Brock Purdy endorsed running back Christian McCaffrey for the award following another fantastic offensive performance in the team’s 45-29 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Shaq Spent $1 Million On Three Luxury Cars To Spite A Rude Salesman
As Stephen King once wrote, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, shame on both of us?
My favorite thing about this story is Shaq still lined the pockets of that Los Angeles Rolls-Royce sales guy. The sales guy and his family are the real winner of this rich athlete pissing contest.
Paige Spiranac Fights Back After Viewers Claim Her Hole-In-One Video Is Fake
Uh-oh! A scandal seems to be afoot the high stakes world of golf influencers.
Former NFL Player Darnell Docket Tried To Bring His Pet Tiger To Training Camp
Last week I learned that former NFL defensive end Darnell Docket owned a pet tiger. Docket, as you might recall, was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the NFL Draft in 2004. He also apparently tried to own a pet monkey and wanted to name it “Skeeter.” But back to the tiger… how do you even get a pet tiger in the car to drive it to training camp? Do you put it in the backseat? How do you avoid getting mauled when driving down the highway at 70 mph? I have so many questions.
Kim Mulkey Ejected, Restrained By Angel Reese Continuing Season Of Headlines
I don’t know when it happened, but I’m very invested in this LSU Women’s hoops drama. Every week there’s something new! Makes for great holiday party small talk.
